Volunteers are needed for the following positions in Children's Music Ministries (please sign up using the form at the bottom of the page):
Choir Director - instructs one of four younger choirs each Sunday during the school year. These choirs participate on occasion in worship and two major programs (Christmas and Spring)
Choir Assistant - helps the directors during rehearsals on a regular basis. Duties range from taking attendance, and passing out materials, to occasionally substituting for the director.
Handbell Choir Director - provides basic music instruction to a ringing choir. Each choir meets on Sundays during the school year and occasionally rings in worship. Must be able to read music.
Handbell Choir Assistant - must be able to read music in order to help the director and work individually with ringers as needed.
Choreographer - needed to add movement to musicals.
Costume Maker - sew or design costumes for use in major musical productions.
Set/Scenery Builder - help design, construct and/or paint sets and scenery for musicals. Two major sets are needed for the Christmas and spring programs.
Accompanist - play piano during choir rehearsals and occasionally accompany the choirs in worship.
Activity Coordinator - helps plan weekly activities for the Joy Notes and Young Wesleyans choirs and coordinate volunteers to implement them. Sample activities include crafts, music theory games, mission projects, and hand-signing.
Choir Supervisor - ensures that activities and dinners run smoothly for afternoon choirs each Sunday during the school year. Other duties include collections of funds, directing parent volunteers, and maintaining discipline.
Snack Coordinator - makes weekly calls to parents assigned to provide Sunday afternoon dinners and sees that supplies are replenished as needed.
