Volunteers are needed for the following positions in Congregational Care Ministries (please sign up using the form at the bottom of the page):

Care Team – members provide Christian Care for those who are homebound or living in retirement, nursing home or assisted living facilities. Monthly meetings will facilitate assignments for providing this distinctively Christian one-to-one care.

Care and Communion Team – a ministry of visitation to extend the Table of Communion. On the first Sunday of the month, teams of two go out in the afternoon to take the Lord’s supper to persons who are unwillingly absent from worship.

Hospital Flower Ministry – volunteers deliver flowers (from our Sunday worship services) to those in the hospital. Hospitalized members receive a Sunday worship bulletin and an arrangement of flowers with each Monday visit.

Prepare/Deliver Meals to Bereaved – volunteers have their name placed on a list of persons to be called when a church member loses a loved one. When telephoned, you simply prepare a dish and deliver to a family in need.

Blood Donor – Donors give the Gift of Life, and are needed for quarterly blood drives through the Blood Bank at Our Lady of the Lake. BUMC participates in the Blood Assurance Program to assist church members with replacement needs.

Blood Drive Worker – volunteer to work sign-up stations and registration tables for our blood drive.

Easter Lily Delivery – volunteers are needed to pick up Easter Lilies after church on Easter Sunday for delivery to an assigned church member (homebound or in a nursing facility).

Poinsettia Delivery – volunteers are needed to pick-up a poinsettia after the 7 p.m. candlelight service on Christmas Eve for delivery to an assigned church member (homebound or in a nursing home facility).

Care Caller – needed to make calls periodically to inactive members and those who live alone to see how they are doing and to show Christ’s love and care for the body of Christ called Broadmoor UMC.

Disabilities Awareness – A steering committee to assess and meet special needs. Servants are needed to assist with committee assessments, recommendations, and improvements.

Broadmoor Quilters – Creative and committed women who meet weekly to sew quilts to be presented to church members as a reminder that they are in our thoughts and prayers.

Wheels of Care – A ministry to assist church members (unable to drive) in reaching medical appointments, filling prescriptions, or obtaining needed food and supplies. Servants are needed to drive.

Wheels for Worship – Drivers are needed on Sunday morning to pick up elderly church members in the church bus and bring them to and from the worship services.

Hospital Recovery Callers Team – Call members who have recently returned from the hospital as a reminder that they are in our prayers.
